Bill on amnesty to be considered in the near future

25.05.2007.

A draft law on amnesty to be sent to the parliament in the near future. It has been stated by Interior Minister of Belarus Uladzimir Navumau on May 25, while he answered questions of “MPs” at a joint session of the both chambers of the “national assembly”.

“Not all agreed on the categories of citizens who would be entitled to amnesty. Several months have passed to settle this issue,” U. Navumau noted. As said by him, at the moment the draft law is under consideration of the Presidential Administration. It is expected that in two-three weeks it would be fully advised and sent to the parliament.

U. Navumau said that the amnesty is to concern all citizens who had committed minor crimes or reckless participators in crimes.
