Pinsk activist fights for fine annulment

31.05.2007.

Aliaksandr Auseenka has sent another claim to Brest regional court. He has been trying to protect his rights for two years already.
Last summer he was searched on the Ukrainian border, when the customs officers confiscated several stickers and leaflets dealing with Aliaksandr Milinkevich.
He was charged with violating customs regulations and fined BYR 1,500,000. Auseenka did not agree to the decision and after the new Administrative Code took effect he demanded to reconsider the verdict. His fine was reduced to BYR 600,000. However, it was the maximum fine possible, while the previous verdict was milder. In addition, he was shocked by the fact that the trial took place without his presence.
