Andrus Ihnatovich, member of BPF Youth, and Franak Viachorka, member of BPF Council, applied to Minsk authorities for permission to hold a picket. The goal of the picket is to raise the issue of bicycle parking lots for students and other Minsk residents. According to Ihnatovich, who initiated the picket, the problem should be solved jointly by Minsk authorities and administrations of the universities located in the city.
“I use a bike very often, -- Andrus Ihnatovich says, -- and often face the problem: there are no places where I can leave a bike in the city. All European countries have organized parking lots, where everyone can leave a bike for unlimited time. In my mind, now, when the authorities cut the transportation benefits for students, young people will use bicycles even more actively. The problem of parking lots will arise anyway”.See also
