“SOS Hrodna!” Initiative Created in Poland

On Sunday, June 24th, founders announced about creation of the civic initiative in Bialystok, Poland. Today, on June 25th, Bialystok city Council will pass a special resolution about preservation of common historical and cultural heritage of “Nioman” euroregion which is being destroyed in Hrodna.
The Belarusian delegation visited Bialystok on the invitation of Bialystok administration. Representatives of Milinkevich’s movement Yuras Hubarevich, Ihar Lialkou, Paval Mazheika, and head of Hrodna BPF Party Siarhei Malchyk arrived to Bialystok for celebration of the Days of this Polish city.
Representatives of For Freedom movement met with President of Bialystok Tadeusz Truskalaski, member of the Polish Sejm, leader of the Civic Platform Party in Podlassie region Robert Tyszkiewicz, and other local politicians. During the meetings they discussed joint projects of Bialystok and Hrodna regions. A joint Polish-Belarusian campaign in defense of the historical heritage of Hrodna became a special topic of the meetings, reports Milinkevich’s web-site.
Polish MP Robert Tyszkiewicz has already made an inquiry to the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage about the steps Poland can make in order to help defend the common historical heritage.See also
