Homel tax inspection has decided to check the public association Legal Initiative”. On 13 July Leanid Sudalenka, chairman of Homel branch of the organization is to give a number of documents for examination. The list of the required documents includes about 20 items.
The incident started on Monday when Mr Sudalenka received a phone call from Chyhunachny district tax inspection of Homel. The public activist was offered in a categorical form to bring all documents for inspection. Leanid Sudalenka answered that the matter concerns a public association, not a firm, Radio Racyja informs.
The organization does not have a staff list and salaries; that is why there is no possibility to react to all requirements of inspectors. ‘All papers are in a strong box, and bookkeeper has the key. The bookkeeper is out of town in her summer cottage!’ Mr Sudalenka said. Besides, the activist noted that he hadn’t received a written order about the check.
On Tuesday Mr Sudalenka visited the inspection with the documents. Workers of the inspection tried to talk to him rudely, and even threatened with an administrative fine to him.
