Action of Solidarity with Political Prisoners to Take Place on 16 July

As stated by the United Civil Party, at 6 p.m. on 16 July an action of solidarity with political prisoner Andrei Klimau will take place in Minsk at Kastrychnitskaya Square. Participants of the rally will gather on the square with portraits of Andrei Klimau, Aliaksandr Kazulin, Zmitser Dashkevich, Artur Finkevich and other prisoners of conscience.
’This form of expressing one’s position is not prohibited, and is not subject to the law on meetings and rallies’, told the leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Liabedzka. ‘Today, when the question of release of Belarusian political prisoners has become a main issue of international agenda when Belarus is concerned, our duty is to apply pressure inside the country’.
