On 7 July Chyhunachny court of Vitsebsk fined Barys Khamaida was fined about 140 US dollars under article 23.34 (violation of the order of organization and holding mass actions).
He went out on a street to celebrate a jubilee of a classic of the Belarusian poetry Yanka Kupala. He held a fresh number of Nasha Niva newspaper and a self-made poster with one of the poet’s verses. He was detained by the police and then fined for it.
On 9 July Vitsebsk district court fined Ales Dzeravianka about 14 US dollars for participation in an action in support of the human rights activist Valery Shchukin during a trial over the latter. The judge Mikhail Zubenia qualified it as violation of article 23.34 as well.
