Youth leader Aliaksei Shydlouski, as well as opposition activists Mikalai Pryvarnikau and Pavel Baranouski, were detained in the center of Minsk by KGB officers. The KGB officers claimed they distributed printed materials and invitations to participate in the European March.
The Human Rights Center “Viasna” found out, in the evening of July 12th the activists were taken to Centralny police department, where they were kept for about an hour. Because the police failed to find any flyers or stickers among the belongings of the activists, they had to release them. However, the activists were warned that they might be summoned the next day.
