On 30 July Zavadski borough court of Minsk considered an administrative case against a member of Belarusian People’s Front Party Franak Viachorka. Viachorka was detained on 27 July, during an action dedicated to an anniversary of the State Sovereignty Declaration.
After the detention Viachorka was first taken to Zavadski borough police department where the police searched him. They found some stickers and composed a report on administrative violation. Then Franak was transferred to the detention center in Akrestsin Street and spent there the weekend.
On Monday judge Ramanava sentenced him to 7 days of jail for alleged violation of the order of holding mass actions (article 23.34 of the Administrative Code).
The same day Leninski borough court of Minsk tried an activist of Young Front Yaraslau Hryshchenia. He was also detained on 27 July and spent the weekend in the detention center. However, he received a different, harder sentence – 15 days of jail.
