Why Become a BRSM Member?

According to the charted, the public association Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM) is aimed at all-sided development of youth and revelation of its creative potential, creation of a civil society based pm the spiritual and moral values of the Belarusian people’.
For an uninformed person these ideals sound attractive, but not many youth try to join the organization. What can one do to help the situation? May be, propose some bonuses, as it is done in many educational establishments of Mahiliou and Homel?
For instance, an advert at an informational stand of school #6 in Mahiliou does not hide the real reasons for joining the pro-governmental BRSM. It informs the public that not only patriotism, but also considerable discounts is shops, hairdressers’, excursions and tourist journeys can be a reason to become a BRSM member. These are the means by which the organization leaders try to involve schoolchildren in the organization in order to educate ‘builders of new order’ and ‘patriots’ as it was done in the Soviet times.
