Krychau Police Supports Independent Newspaper

Today Volny Horad newspaper published an article “Time to Do European Renovations”. The article analyses the course and the results of the European March, which has taken place in Minsk. In the article “Fate of Detained Issues in KGB Hands” the newspaper tells the story of seizure of one of the issues. The article “Krychau Police Supports Volny Horad” reports that the local police department decided not to bring vriminal charges against the newspaper. Siarhei Niariouny, Volny Horad’s editor-in-chief says: “Such cases demonstrate that everything is not that simple in power structures. There is no uniformity inside. In some cases officials decide it is not good to fight with journalists, or, may be, they are thinking about their future.”
