Lukashanets Proposes to Introduce Exam in Belarusian for Officials

In his speech at the sitting of the section of humanities and art Mr. Lukashanets emphasized that such a demand would help the Belarusian teachers to form a bilingual person who understands the value of the national and cultural priorities of the country.
‘If the pupil and his parents understand that in order to occupy a position one really needs to know Belarusian, their attitude to its study will change fundamentally,’ quotes BelTA.
‘In this case the Belarusian society will receive a person who is to the greatest extent prepared to successful activity in the conditions of the contemporary multilingual and multicultural international community’, stated the director of the Institute of Linguistics.
