New Detentions for Distribution of Materials Concerning Social March

On 2 November in Minsk the police detained one of the organizers of the Social March, the deputy chair of the Young Democrats Mikhail Pashkevich, and his friend Zmitser Kavalhin. The guys distributed agitation materials concerning the mass street action Social March that will take place in the center of Minsk on 4 November. The detainees were taken to the police department of Minsk tube. 

Bear in mind that Mikhail Pashkevich was an initiator of holding the Social March in Kastrychnitskaya Square. Yesterday he called the people to gather at 2 p.m. on 4 November in Kastrychnitskaya Square. Something like this has already happened before the European March. That time an initiator of the action Yauhen Afnahel, was imprisoned for several days. 

We also learned that in the morning at the tube station Traktarny zavod the police detained Siarhei Kliuyeu and Mikila Siarheyenka for handing out informational materials devoted to the Social March. All four detainees are accused under article 23.34 ‘Violation of the order of holding mass actions.’
