Policemen Maltreats Girl for Graffiti

27.11.2007.

Youth activist Katsiaryna Salauyeva is to go to police department for interrogation today at 3 p.m. People in plain clothes detained her last night near the building of the Polatsak city executive committee, after she drew a slogan on the wall: “Nobody can stop us! Young Front.”

They knocked her down to the ground and held her down until a police car drove up. Katsiaryna Salauyeva was guarded to a police department, where a report was drawn up against her, RFE/RL reports.

Katsiaryna was set free only at 2 a.m. The policemen confiscated her pocketbook with addresses and telephone numbers, white-red-white flag and spray paint can.

It should be reminded, two days before the Young Front member Ales Krutkin was detained near the building of the Polatsak city executive committee, when he was trying to write a political slogan on the wall.

According to the police report, Krutkin is accused of damaging the state property and will receive summons soon.
