On January 15th the leaders of Belarusian opposition forces gathered at the office of BPF party in order to work out a joint “defense line” against attacks of the Ministry of Justice, Novye Izvestia reports.

First deputy chairman of BPF party states, the Ministry of Justice is preparing legal basis for liquidation of political parties in opposition. Vincuk Viacorka informs, BPF and UCP received warnings from the Ministry of Justice for participation of their activists in the entrepreneurs’ rally on January 10th.

“We are well-aware of the fact that the authorities are preparing legal basis for liquidation of our parties. We will react as a united force, in the most resolute way. We will prepare new actions”, -- Vincuk Viacorka states.

The participants of the meeting think now the Ministry of Justice is preparing to liquidate the Party of Communists of Belarus, the activity of which was suspended in August 2007.

According to the chairman of the Party of Communists of Belarus, the Ministry of Justice accuses his party of “the emblem on the membership cards is more to the right than it should be”, and “the margins in the letters are too big”.

The opposition leaders made a joint statement about the actions of the Ministry. It says: “the campaign of solidarity with PCB should become a common cause of all citizens and all civic and political forces that fight for ideals of freedom, democracy, lawfulness and sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus”.
