The police used violence in the attempt to hinder the work of Nasha Niva’s photo journalist Yulia Darashkevich. Darashkevich was taking pictures in the building of Centralny court of Minsk, where youth activists detained yesterday were tried.
One of the court visitors managed to record a video of that with his cell phone. The policemen grabbed the guy and dragged him to another room. However they could not find his cell phone. Then the police officers asked human rights defender Valiantsin Stefanovich to talk to the guy and help them find the phone. The human rights defender refused explaining he was not a police officer and did not have an authority to do that. The situation in the court corridors is quite tense.
