Mahiliou activists receive summons to police

On the eve of the entrepreneurs’ protest rally which is to take place on January 21st in Mahiliou, a number of Mahiliou civic activists received summons to come to police. They are to come to local police stations in the morning of January 21st. Mahiliou human rights defenders report, the following people received summons:
Ihar Barysau, journalist
Yauhen Boika, youth activist
Tatsiana Bulanava, youth activist
Ales Burakou, Radio Racyja reporter
Hanna Ilyina, journalist
Ales Paplyka, youth activist
Siarhei Famin, trade union activist
The summons to Tatsiana Bulanava says she is summoned as a witness in a criminal case. Some of the activists decided not to come to the police because in their opinion the summons were composed or delivered with violation of the law.
Let us remind the readers, Mahiliou activist Valadar Tsurpanau is serving a 10-day jail sentence he received on January 16th for participation in the entrepreneurs’ rally on January 10th.
Detained entrepreneur Anatol Zmitrovich goes on hunger strike
Entrepreneur Anatol Zmitrovich from Svetlahorsk went on hunger strike. He was detained on January 18th, when he came to police station. He was summoned by police as a witness of the mass event on January 10th. The policemen detained him right in their office. Today Anatol Zmitrovich will be tried.
