The Ministry of Justice published a report about registered parties, trade unions, non-governmental organizations, and foundations in Belarus.
For the last six months the number of political parties decreased by two. We used to have 17 parties, now we have 15. Let us remind you, the Supreme Court ruled to shut down the Belarusian Environmental Party of the Greens? And Women’s Party “Nadzeya”. There are chances that PCB will have the same fate. The number of regional branches (oblast, raion, city organizations) also decreased by 16 units during the last six months. In comparison with 4 years ago, the number of such structures decreased by 800 organizations.
Instead, the number of NGOs has grown a little bit. The Ministry of Justice points out, now they register mostly youth, sports, and charitable organizations.
