After the request to suspend the consideration of its liquidation suit at the Supreme Court the Ministry of Justice revoked it at all.
The suit for liquidation of the Party of Communists Belarusian was directed to the Supreme Court on 20 December 2007 by the justice minister. The alleged reason for the liquidation was that the party did not implement the ruling of the Supreme Court for six-month suspension of its activities. During this period the PCB was prohibited to maintain any activities except for the ones directed at correction of the violations which ensued in the suspension. ‘As it was found, during the suspension period certain representatives of the party continued on behalf of the party some activities which were not connected to correction of the violations’, was stated in the suit.
On 22 January 2008 the Ministry of Justice received from the PCB ‘letters informing the ministry that the party corrected the violations and providing information concerning this issue.’ In fact, the Ministry of Justice called ‘letters’ about 1 200 pages of documents.
On 7 February at the web-site of the Ministry there appeared information that the documents had been studied and it was decided to revoke the suit.
