Bialynichy activist Aleh Miatselitsa detained

Democratic activist Aleh Miatselitsa has been stopped twice on his way to Minsk from Bialynichy. He and his daughter drove to Minsk to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Belarusian Democratic Republic. However, on Mahilioou –Minsk highway he was stopped by road policemen in Berazino, and had to spend an hour in the local police station. According to the policemen, they received information from the head of Bialynichy district police department, that because of Aleh’s car some other car got in an accident. When the case was studies and Miatselitsa gave explanations, he was allowed to go. However, when they approached Minsk, near Luhavaya Slabada the car was stopped again. The police asked him to follow them to the local police department. The policemen refer to the fact that the car is allegedly on the stolen cars list. For unknown reason, Miatselitsa’s car engine won’t start. He and policemen continue to stay on the highway.
