‘Young Front’ activist Artsiom Lastavetski is tried while serving arrest

Artsiom Lastavetski, Young Front activist from Baranavichy, who is serving 7-day arrest for handing out portraits of political prisoner Andrei Kim, was guarded to another trial from a detention center.
The court fined the Young Front activist 1.4 million rubles (about 657 US dollars). Besides, the young man also must compensate for damage to houses and administrative buildings. Artsiom Lastavetski was returned to the detention center after the trial, he is to be set free on 1 July, the press service of the Young Front reports.
Bear in mind that an administrative report on article 10.9 (infliction of injury), providing a fine up to 1 750 000 rubles, was drawn up against Artsiom Lastavetski.
Before that the activist was detained in Baranavichy for drawing political graffiti (more than 200 graffiti appeared in the town on that day). The Young Front member was threatened a criminal case could be instituted against him, but the procuracy check-up found that the scale of damage isn’t enough for a criminal punishment.
