Baranavichy: Signatures for candidate collected on the order of the ideological department

On the order of the ideological department of Baranavichy city executive committee a telephoned telegram was sent to Baranavichy schools on July 22-23, 2008. The telegram proposed every school to send 5 employees to collect signatures for the candidate to the Parliament.
On July 25th, in the conference hall of Budtrest building in Baranavichy teachers were gathered for a meeting. The meeting was called by Aleh Savos, head of the organizational department of Baranavichy city executive committee. Aleh Savos ordered that the teachers should gather signatures for the pro-governmental candidate to the Parliament. The official candidate in Baranavichy-Zakhodniaya district # 5 — general Anatol Vankovich, head of military headquarters of air defense – did not come to the meeting. Anatol Vankovich is an incumbent MP who runs for the Parliament for the second time. His initiative group for signature collection was registered on July 24th.
Observer at district election commission Viktar Syrytsa submitted a statement to chair of the election commission Alexander Rusenchyk asking to check the facts and make an appropriate decision.
