An activist of the Party of Communists Belarusian Vasil Mamkin has been fired from the open stock company Elektraaparatura where worked for more than 25 years. He has sued to Chyhunachny district court of Homel for rehabilitation at work. He also demands from the defendant 10 million rubles in moral damages.
On 7 August, during the court hearings Vasil Mamkin stated that on 18 July the director of the enterprise, MP Viktar Zhyhar had signed an order for his dismissal for alleged systematical non-implementation of office duties. The activist believes that the real reason for his dismissal is that the Tovarishch newspaper was brought for him to the checkpoint and the director of the enterprise found about it.
The judge Halina Charnashei listened to the lawyer of the enterprise Natallia Kaptsiakova and ruled to require additional documents and call to the court Mamkin’s colleagues. The next sitting was appointed on 20 August. Till then the enterprise administration have an opportunity to rehabilitate Vasil Mamkin at work on their own free will.
