Minsk: action of solidarity with Georgia

On 10 August a rally of solidarity with the Georgian took place in Minsk near the Georgian Embassy. Young activists were holding streamers: ‘Georgia, we are with you! Russians, go home!’ and a Georgian flag. A letter with words f support was given to the Georgian Embassy. The picket was short: the police forced participants, activists of the Bunt movement, to hide the flags. A petition with the words of indignation over the actions of the Russian regime was sent to the Russian Embassy in Belarus by post. It was stated there: ‘We categorically condemn the illegal actions of the Russian troops against the sovereignty and independence of Georgia. Russia must finally understand that the USSR exists no more, and free countries have the right to choose their future.’
