Oppositional candidate gets detained during electoral speech on TV

Kanstantsin Zhukouski, representative of the Belarusian Christian democracy Party, MP candidate in Buda-Kashaliova constituency (Homel region) was guarded to the local police department and was denied an opportunity of shooting propaganda video on the Homel oblast TV.
Not trusting the local authorities and TV directorate, agent of the candidate Siarhei Trafimau received permission of the Homal local authorities and carried his own camera to the studio to shot speech of Kanstantsin Zhukouski. During the shooting, director of the Homel Regional TV Studio Kotau burst into the studio and demanded that the shooting was stopped. Kanstantsin Zhukouski tried to explain to the director he had a lawful right for the shot. In reply, the director called for militia. As a result, Kanstantsin Zhukouski and his colleagues were detained without explaining reasons and guarded to Tsentralny district police department of Homel.
‘I am going to file a complaint to the prosecutor’s office in response to unlawful detention’, Kanstantsin Zhukouski told to the Charter’97 press center on phone.
