At night on 15 September the young activists Mikhail Illin and Yauhen Skrabets were detained in Brest.
A human rights activist Uladzimir Vyalichkin told to RFE/RL that policemen seized the young men in Respublika Avenue near the informational boards for voters, when they allegedly were pasting leaflets with calls to boycott the elections. However, now they are charged under Article 17.1 of the Administrative Code (petty hooliganism).
The duty policeman of the police department of Maskouski district confirmed that the detained Mikhail Illin and Yauhen Skrabets are under arrest now.
