About 100 teachers of Polish language haven’t been allowed to come to Hrodna for a concert organized by the Union of Poles in Belarus headed by Anzhalika Borys.
On 11 October teachers of Polish language from the oblast and some other cities of the country were invited to Hrodna for a concert. A mass dedicated to this occasion took place in Brygitski Roman Catholic Church. An official function took place in Hrodna restaurant, and then the concert took place. The event was organized by the General Consulate of Poland in Hrodna, the public organisation Polska Macierz Szkolna (PMS) and the Union of Poles headed by Anzhalika Borys.
As Juzaf Pazhetski, the deputy chairman of the Union of Poles in Belarus stated, more than 200 teachers had been invited, but only about a half took part in the event. He explained that some of the teachers haven’t been allowed to come and some other events were organized for others on the same day, for instance a conference on methods of teaching languages in a Polish language school in Hrodna, and even an excursion to Augustovski canal.
