17.03.2010 Arrested participants of action of solidarity in Minsk to stand trials
Reports were drawn up against European Belarus activists detained near the Supreme Court on March 16. 13 activists of European Belarus were arrested for having come with portraits of political prisoners to the Supreme Court, where Mikalai Autukhovich and Uladzimir Asipenka are standing trial.
16.03.2010 Mass arrests near Supreme Court of Belarus
13 persons are arrested near the Supreme Court of Belarus, where the trial over political prisoners Autukhovich and Asipenka is held. Democratic activists stood in a line near the entrance of the court. They held portraits of political prisoners and chanted a slogan “Freedom to political prisoners!” The rally lasted for about 5 minutes, and after that riot policemen attacked its participants and cruelly pushed them into a police bus, “European Belarus” website informs.
10.03.2010 Zhodzina: Ivan Mikhailau was released from pre-trial prison
On 9 March the administration of the Zhodzina pre-trial prison refused to release Ivan Mikhailau and stated that the excerpt from the court verdict on his case that was brought by his relatives wasn’t enough for releasing him. The complete text of the verdict was passed to the prison administration on 10 March, after which Mr. Mikhailau was released.

10.03.2010 Activist of Belarusian Christian Democracy went on hunger-strike
Andrei Kasheuski, activist of the organizing committee of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party (BCD) went on hunger-strike to protest against his arrest. The activist was detained on 3 March in the evening in Minsk metro and was taken to the Leninski district court in Minsk where he was sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest for alleged disorderly conduct, BelaPAN informs. At the moment the activist is kept in the prison in Akrestsin Street.
23.02.2010 Hrodna journalist charged with arbitrariness
Hrodna independent journalist Ales Dzianisau was charged with arbitrariness by the local police department and may be fined under civil proceedings, Radio Racyja reports. Ales Dzianisau was detained a month ago in a Hrodna public school while making a story on optional school courses, which was deemed as violation of his Constitutional rights.

Aleh Surhan, accused of disobedience to militia during detention for hanging out a national flag, was detained by officers of the Kastrychnitski district militia department of Vitsebsk on January 27. The incident, which will be considered by court, took place on September 3, 2009. Aleh Surhan and his younger brother Taras Surhan were detained by militiamen at a bus stop near the medical university, where a national white-red-white flag was hung out,” Radio Svaboda reminds.

The people coming to support Tereza Sobal, the head of the Polish House in Ivyanets, and not to allow the authorities to take away the building are being detained and arrested. The website charter97.org learnt from Andrzej Poczobut, a famous journalist, activist of the Union of Poles in Belarus, unrecognized by the authorities. According to him, more than 100 activists of the Union of Poles are going to visit Ivyanets (the Minsk region) today. Road traffic police began to stop their cars, check IDs and search vehicles.

Nastassia Shamrei, reporter of the Nasha Niva independent newspaper, has been detained outside the building of the Iranian embassy on 16 December, the press-service of the Belarusian Association of Journalists reports. The journalist was arrested during a picket of support to ten Iranian gays sentenced to death.
