27.09.2008 Maladechna: “Tick off” in required place
For many years Maladechna polling stations practice such a hidden form of agitation as an example of how a ballot paper should be filled out. However, the number of candidates in the example is always the same as the number of candidates in the district. The tick stands near the number where the last name of the official candidate should be. Every election that practice gives ground for conflicts between the observers and precinct election commissions. Observers write reports and complaints, but with every new election the situation repeats.
23.09.2008 Maladechna: Rayon executive committee promotes candidate
Observers found out, last week deputy chair of Maladechna rayon executive committee Yafim Idelchyk gathered meetings of business representatives. Besides discussion of the issues on the agenda, he promoted official candidate Mikalai Zhhun (Maladechna city district # 70). Mikalai Zhhun is director of Maladechna Polytechnical college. He has two opponents in his district: UCP member Alexander Shumkevich and individual entrepreneur Ivan Mishyn.

Registration of candidates to the Chamber of Representatives takes place until August 28th, 2008. However, the pro-governmental nominees have already started agitation.
18.08.2008 Maladechna: only members of pro-governmental NGOs were selected to precinct election commissions
By the decision of Maladechna and Valozhyn rayon executive committees, only representatives of the pro-governmental NGOs and political parties were included in precinct election commissions in Maladechna city district # 70 and rural district # 71.The total number of members of such organizations as the CPB party, Belarusian Union of Women, veterans' organizations, BRSM, and Belaya Rus is 72 people.
